Social Advocacy print Campaign:
Good on you

Fall 2022

How can we utilize print design to promote sustainability in the fashion industry?

 Design question:

Overview:

For my Visual Communication Design class project, I was tasked with creating a print ad and brochure to advocate for a social issue I was passionate about. I chose to address sustainability in the fashion industry, aiming to raise awareness and inspire action through our designs.

Challenge:

The main challenge was to effectively capture viewers' eyes and communicate the importance of sustainability in fashion and motivate viewers to support eco-friendly practices.

Approach:

I began by conducting research into the environmental impact of the fashion industry and exploring different design concepts that would resonate with our audience. Using Adobe Illustrator for the print ads and Adobe InDesign for the brochure, I brought my ideas to life, focusing on visually compelling imagery and persuasive messaging, as well as a bright and enticing color pallette.

Solution:

The final print campaign consisted of eye-catching ads and an informative brochure that highlighted the benefits of sustainable fashion. Through engaging visuals and concise copy, I aimed to educate and inspire viewers to make more environmentally conscious choices in their purchasing habits.

Conclusion:

This project provided valuable experience in using design to advocate for social change and highlighted the power of visual communication in raising awareness about important issues like sustainability in the fashion industry. While the project has concluded, I believe there is potential to expand the campaign through digital channels or collaborate with fashion brands to further promote sustainability initiatives.
